Solomon’s Puzzle Sampler Quilt Block 11: Eight Hands Around

The title of the quilt store in the book is Eight Hands Around. The block’s name and look are symbolic of quilting bees where four women sat on the sides of a friend’s quilt and helped her stitch the layers together.  The shop in the book helps create a picture of community important to the novel’s meaning and conclusion.

Quilt block looks like a star, but represents 4 people quilting. This one has a "solomon's puzzle' block in the center.
